Obsession is a word you don’t hear about often in a POSITIVE context. Let’s start with the dictionary…..
Every business has different goals. Some just want to make a quality product and create a sustainable business model that endures through rough economic times. That is certainly noble, and also challenging! Nobody could argue with this…..
When you walk into your favorite business and compare it to just your average “run of the mill” business, would the word obsession be MORE present in your favorite place vs. the run of the mill?
I think it would be.
And I would venture to guess the place that makes your favorite list has something to do with service, service that is delivered by human beings in a special way. It is memorable, or you at least feel a connection to the business that makes it “YOUR place!”
Defining an obsession that goes beyond $’s and cents, where everyone INSIDE and OUTSIDE the organization clearly sees, feels and touches is a journey indeed.
